About the Walk

Why We Walk

Thousands of Queenslanders face homelessness every night. Steps4Change is more than a walk — it's a movement to restore dignity, stability, and hope. Your steps raise funds for safe, supported accommodation that changes lives.

Let's Spring Into Action and show our community what hope in motion looks like.

Every Step Counts

By participating in Steps4Change, you'll be joining a community of compassionate individuals committed to making a difference. Your participation will help:

  • Raise Awareness: Highlight the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness.
  • Fundraise: Support local shelters, food programs, and housing initiatives.
  • Inspire Action: Encourage others to join the movement and advocate for change.

What to Bring on Walk Day

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience during the 15km walk, here's a quick checklist of essentials:

  • Comfortable Walking Shoes: Supportive footwear is key for a long-distance walk, and toe socks can be great to prevent blisters.
  • Water Bottle: Stay hydrated with plenty of water along the route.
  • Sunscreen & Hat: Protect yourself from the sun, even on cloudy days.
  • Snacks: Pack light, energizing snacks to keep you fueled.
  • Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Dress in layers and bring a rain jacket if needed.
  • Personal Identification: Keep your ID and emergency contact info handy.

Our first aid officers and support crew will be on hand to assist. This is a fun event, so please be safe, respect your limits, and ask for help if needed.

Come prepared, and let's make this walk a memorable one!
